Description
Learn
how to fence with Olympic and Paralympic coach, Laszlo Jakab.
This beginners fencing course suitable for ages 14 to 60,
male or female!
The aims
of this course are to introduce the traditions, techniques
and tactics of attack and defense of fencing, while at the
same time build up fitness levels and confidence to eventually
bout with more experienced fencers. The course is ideal for
people with no previous knowledge of the sport.
All necessary fencing kit is provided, you'll just need to
bring a training shoes, tracksuit style trousers and a spare
t-shirt as things can get quite sweaty!

What
is the SUNEE British Fencing Academy?
Through
a partnership with the 5 universities in the North East (SUNEE),
the Academy is aimed at from ages 14 - 20, with selection
partly based on rankings, coach nomination or directly by
application
form.
The
aims of the Academy is through three areas of focus: Talent
Development, Education and Club Development. This
regional centre it is part of the ongoing national programme
to support fencers, coaches and parents through a national
and regional framework and in time will have support through
a “virtual Academy”, with online resources.
The
Academy is more than a training camp, it trains and educates
fencers, coaches and officials in all aspects of the sport.
As well as benefiting our local fencers this will be open
to junior fencers from around the north of the UK, so people
have a centre no more than 3 hours drive.

Description:
Go Fence (also known as 'Mini-fence') is is the soft form
of fencing using plastic swords and masks. This one day course
course will introduce the fundamental moves, games and theory
of fencing to enable candidates to teach Go Fencing in schools
or community settings.
No
experience of fencing in required and successfull candidates
will be registered with British Fencing as a Go Fence leader!

Taster
sessions in foil for groups - 2 hours. Max 14 persons.
Coaching
levels 1 + 2 foil, epee, sabre - Time table to be set
Start
Fencing - 2hrs x 10 weeks. Adult or Junior.
If
you want to try fencing but a course is not currently available,
many clubs in the region offer beginner's sessions and provide
