Alternative Venues for BFCD sessions – when Durham University Sports Hall is unavailable

For WEST GYM you come down from the A690 roundabout (from Gilesgate/Sunderland)

towards the centre of Durham and take the small slip road left about half way down the hill:

If coming from the centre of Durham, there is no right turn allowed: go up to the roundabout

and come back down again (For East Gym, go into the Hild and Bede College site from the

Gilesgate roundabout).

For Gilesgate School, go up Gilesgate Bank and continue for half a mile: after the Petrol

station on your left there is a zebra crossing, take the next left (Churchill Avenue), then when

you come to a building facing you, turn right and follow the road (Roosevelt Road) round to

Bradford crescent: The school is facing you, the sports hall entrance is round the back.

For Vane Tempest Hall, go up Gilesgate: Do not turn right at Sherburn Road, but just before

it, the hall is up the lane about 150 yards.
