In September, the North East will be hosting the UK School Games. This is one of the largest multi-sport competitions that takes place in the UK and it is to give our to young sports men and women valuable experience at an 'Olympic' style event. (UK School Games website)

Fencing is one of 10 sports to be represented in the Games and is being held at the Sunderland Tennis Centre. Individual and team events take place over the three days, with our top junior fencers representing England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Last year in Cardiff, Regional fencers Alex Craig and Lucy Ridsdale competed and brought home a 2 silver medals!

This year Alex Craig has been selected for England along with Matt Henderson.
